📋 Setup Guide (Windows)

1. Download the installer

Click here to download OpenHuman_0.58.7_x64-setup.exe. Save it anywhere.

2. Install

Double-click the file and click through like any normal Windows app. It lands in your user folder — no command line needed.

Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen (SmartScreen). This is normal for indie apps — it just means the installer isn't store-signed. To continue:

① Click "More info"  →  ② Click "Run anyway" (bottom of the window). The install proceeds normally.

3. Open it & sign in

Launch OpenHuman. Create a free account (or sign in). This gives you the app and a starting voice credit.

4. Turn on your voice

Go to Voice Providers. Set Speech-to-Text = Whisper (Local) and Text-to-Speech = Piper (Local). Click Test STT and Test TTS — both should pass.

5. Pick your AI brain

Open Settings → AI Configuration. For a free setup, flip routing to "Use Your Own Models" and connect an OpenRouter key (free to make at openrouter.ai). No monthly bill.

6. Make it yours

Upload a GIF avatar, set its name, and start talking. That's it — you've got your own AI agent.

Tip: Want zero setup hassle? Leave the default cloud voice on and just buy a credit plan inside the app. The local route above is for people who'd rather own it end-to-end and pay nothing.
